This is an amazing thing. Top quality Malbec grapes are left on the vines after harvest for a period of up to 3 months. Over this time they shrivel up like raisins and the juice becomes very, very concentrated and sweet. The natural syrupy juice takes an age to ferment and once it has, the wine is aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. The end result is a top-end Malbec that is 100% naturally sweet; sweet but not 'sticky', and the tannins are still there to provide staunch structure and see the wine through subsequent years of bottle age. A wonderul oddity.

Recioto Giovanni Allegrini is deep ruby red in color and has a spicy bouquet with hints of dried fruit. It is full and velvety on the palate.

Deep golden in colour with a distinct green olive hue. Exotic nose of honey, molasses, caramel and sweet spices. The palate is rich and viscous with concentrated flavours of orange peel, caramel and fig. The finish is lengthy and perfectly balanced. Try with a salty Spanish cheese such as Manchego or Mahon.

Produced with the best Mencía grapes picked when overripe to get fruity aromas with underlying mineral hints together with a beautiful balance between residual sugar and acidity. Sweet and concentrated mouthfeel surprisingly fresh and elegant with a velvety smooth finish.
