White Rhône grape used in white Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage and St. Joseph. Until the problems with its tendency to suffer from rot and wind-resistance were overcome by superior cloning it had been very much on the wane. It is now an important ingredient in white Châteaunuef-du-Pape and is grown in other areas, mainly for blending.
