The unfiltered wine is vibrant and fruit driven with a positive blackcurrant content and is widely regarded as having a certain Californian quality such is its rich vein of dark berried fruit.
Now run by Patrice Ricard who recently took over at Château Liversan. The vines are on average about 35 years old giving further depth of flavour, and although the wine is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon (about 70%) Patrice Ricard, the wineMaker, adds a blend of not only Merlot and Cabernet Franc but also the much less seen Petit Verdot.
