Browse by Grape - Nebbiolo
One of the great red grapes of Italy, with more scope for long term ageing than almost any other. Tannic, acidic and deep in colour, the resultant wines can be massively structured, with extraordinary scenes of violets and tar, with a powerful palate to match. Despite the fact that it is only really found in Piedmont (and very rarely the Americas) its importance cannot be overstated. Any lover of Barolo and Barbaresco (which are both 100% Barolo) will testify to the fact that Nebbiolo is perhaps the greatest of all Italian varieties.

An alternative to the tougher tannins of Italian Nebbiolo, this is a softer, fruitier version, with black cherry, light spice and supple tannins. Very pleasing.
