Fettercairn is one of the few Eastern Highland distilleries still operating and has enjoyed some serious investment from owners Whyte & Mackay in recent years. This 8 year old improves upon the old distillery bottling.
This 8 year old Fettercairn single malt whisky, bottled in 2021, is one of 410 bottles aged exclusively in a refill hogshead.
Nose:
Honey, barley, nuts and malted milk biscuits
Palate:
Fudge and sweet spices, think honey and lemon Hot Toddy's with all the trimmings
Finish:
Dry, mellow and sweet finish with malt and honey showing

Ledaig is a heavily-peated single malt produced at the Tobermory distillery (in contrast with the non-peated Tobermory single malt). The two malts are produced using the same stills, wash backs, mash tuns and the same process water but the two are totally different in character due to the malted barley used.
