Distillery Bottling SPRINGBANK 10 Year Old
Scotland :: Campbeltown

The most famous survivor of Cambeltown and still a firm favourite with Whisky lovers worldwide. One of the few family owned distilleries who distill, bottle and age all their Whiskies on site. The 10YR is a classic coastal malt, matured in both sherry and ex bourbon casks. This offering is typical of this great distillery, with coconut and seaside notes. They don't aim for consistency of cask selection, and sometimes you get more sherried examples than other times. Generally this is at least good though!

Distillery Bottling ARDBEG 10 Year Old
Scotland :: Islay

In 1997 Ardbeg was taken over by Glenmorangie plc, and the past decade has seen a remarkable turnaround in fortunes for this previously neglected distillery, which now boasts an excellent tour onsite, a cracking restaurant and a worldwide following eager for all things Ardbeg. An initial release of aged stocks bottled as a 17 year-old in newly-designed packaging proved an instant runaway success, and has been followed by a string of highly successful official bottlings. The 10YR is both intensely fruity and vibrantly smokey, with camphor and a sea salt tang. Its southern Islay coast neighbours are the equally hard hitting Laphroaig and Lagavulin.
