A new classification—Coteaux Bourguignons—was created in 2011 to replace two older classifications.
Essentially, “Coteaux Bourguignons” translates to the “hills of Burgundy,” and wines labelled under this designation have no restrictions attached. That means you can find red, rosé, and white wines that might be a single varietal-wine or a blend of grapes. Reds are usually made from a blend of pinot noir & gamay which go together rather well!
Coteaux Bourguignons allows fruit to be sourced from greater Burgundy & Beaujolais regions. Domaine de la Creuze Noire Coteaux Bourguignons is a blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay which gives an exceptionally smooth soft approachable wine.

A vibrant, fresh and youthful Burgundian Pinot Noir from Domaine Giraudon who are based just 7 or so miles south west of Chablis. This is excellent, tons of raspberry and cherry fruit and a lick of liquorice on the soft, incredibly approachable palate.

Open, fragrant nose with notes of fresh fruits and white flowers.

The mouth follow through on the same notes, with vibrant and fresh lime fruits.

The finish is pleasant and refreshing. The wine shows and develops nicely in its primary youth.

Lots of tropical fruit flavours mingling with a lovely gentle oak. A splendid Chardonnay.

Fifth generation winemaker Cedric Chêne is now at the winemaking helm at this top class 60 acre family estate situated in southern Burgundy just north of Mâcon. Outstanding wines made in miniscule quantities.

Christophe Camu, 7th generation, ferments all his wines at cool temperature using natural yeasts and produces pure, crisp and mineral whites.

Fresh aromas of green apple, lemon peel, and a wonderful saline minerality. Round on the palate and well-balanced with a crisp acidity. Perfect with seafood.

Complex and well rounded Chablis from vines averaging over 40 years of age.

This Bourgogne Blanc was vinified and raised in stainless steel exhibiting beautiful ripe citrus flavours and aromas, with a slight mineral note and a long finish. Great value white Burgundy.

A classic introduction to white Burgundy.

A velvety smooth Chardonnay, well rounded with a soft texture; done entirely in stainless steel. It shows great finesse and remarkable balance.

Beautiful wine with a golden glow. Its nose evokes acacia, white flowers with a touch of exotic fruits. The mineral aromas blend perfectly with notes of citrus, honey and a slight touch of hazelnut. The richness of the terroir of this plot brings roundness and length.

The bolder Michaut style deftly added to the more restrained style of Vau-Lignau to create a textural, elegant white.

Rich burgundy color with slight browning on the edges. Nose of earth, ripe raspberries and tobacco. Flavors are similar but with the addition of smoke, brown sugar and bay leaf. Slight tartness on the perimeter of the mouthfeel. Delicate in feel, with a finish that dissipates into a slight tartness.

The Mercurey V.V. from Raquillet is made from 60-year-old vines and offers a ripe, spicy, and densely fruited nose of violets, dark berries and dried herbs. In the mouth, dense, delicious and velvety flavors with fine complexity on the impressively long finish.

The 2018 Rully Rouge has a slightly smudged, savoury nose. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a little hardness to contend with at first, but there is a fine structure on the finish. Drink over the next four to five years.

In the glass this wine is a deep cherry red colour. Vibrant, ripe Pinot on the nose, with cherry, raspberry and a touch of herbs. On the palate, the wine is supple, finessed, fruit forward, with a slightly savoury finish.

Started in 1910 by Jean-Baptiste Pillot, the domaine is now run by Jean-Marc who has quietly turned his domaine into one of the finest of Chassagne Montrachet. Smooth and ripe, delicious to drink now and over the next few years.

This lesser known village, just above Aloxe Corton, produces great value red Burgundy, particularly by Monsieur Cornu.

A minute 0.48-hectare parcel from vines with an average age of 30-years-old. The vineyard is situated to the north of the appellation and is without doubt one of the best parcels in Beaune, little surprise it was revered by the by the dukes of Burgundy and is where the parcel takes its name.

Dark and concentrated aromas of black and bramble fruits with added toasted oak spice. Powerful and intense, yet retains excellent vibrancy from the silky, soft tannins and forward, ripe fruit that combine to keep everything in check. Further dark black fruits fuse with toasted cedar and black pepper spice.

The 2019 Givry Crausot 1er Cru has an intense bouquet, the fruit darker than the à Vigne Rouge, very well defined with a touch more spiciness. The palate is well balanced with sappy red fruit, fine acidity, quite fleshy towards the finish with cranberry and raspberry lingering on the aftertaste. This remains a quality Givry from one of Givry’s best producers.

Located in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, Domaine Jacqueson’s 18 hectares of vines are spread across some of the region’s best growing sites, including Mercurey, Rully, and Bouzeron. The estate farms their vineyards without herbicides and highlights the importance of keeping yields low. This varietal Chardonnay is more floral and less opulent than most Côte de Beaune bottlings, marked by flavors of mandarin, lemon skin, crushed rocks, and white blossom. Great quality to price ratio!

Gentle, yet sophisticated, with highly complex red cherry, spice and freshly ground pepper flavours.

This is 1er Cru quality, unsurprising since it comes from three plots of 70 year old vines just below premier cru Les Saint Georges. Dense and backward but with a core of intense, concentrated fruit, this requires patience but will age magnificently.

Strawberry fruit balanced with silky tannins, perfectly weighted and structured. A great example of Pinot Noir at its most appealing.

From 40- to- 80-year-old vines, this is really elegant for village Gevrey with superb purity, very fine, deliciously ripe black fruit. Sourced from various plots from all round Gevrey-Chambertin, it is a complete expression of the appellation. Very lovely.

The nose has wonderful grapefruit zest bitterness, with some gentle floral influenced honey. The palate in bright and clean acidity, and a voluptuous depth of stone fruit on the mid-palate. with subtle smokiness. It is a highly complex village wine that should evolve well for many years.
