Browse by Producer - Seghesio
With over 100 years of wine history, family-owned Seghesio have long been regarded as experts with classic Italian varieties. If you include their trademark Zinfandel (or Primitivo) reds, the accent is very much on where the family originated from, Piedmont. Other grape varieties such as chardonnay and Sauvignon Blan were grubbed up to plant more vines of Italian origin. Pinot Grigio, Barbera and Sangiovese. But it is with Zinfandel that Seghesio eases itself into the serious quality bracket.

For a Barbera this vintage has a velvety richness, while the acidity and Tannins complement and add fullness. The French Oak seasoning provides vanilla, clove and cinnamon essences.

“Best Vintage to Date!” is the quote from a winemaker who seldom speaks in superlatives. With a drought in the beginning of the season, an abundant crop was set in a tight window yet, only about half of the crop made it to maturity. A dry, moderate growing season punctuated by a heat wave in August provided intensely flavoured fruit.
