Paolo De Marchi's excellent Chianti Classico is elegant and supple, full of perfumed fruit, with depth, structure and minerality.

Deep red in colour. Hints of blackberry and blackcurrants mix with spicy, balsamic notes on the nose. Great structure on the palate and a long, persistent finish.

The vineyards belonging to this estate are superb; low-trained and planted on the volcanic soils of the slopes of Mount Vulture at altitudes of up to 800 metres above sea level. The area is one of Italy's most remote and poorest. It is isolated and undeveloped and according to consultant winemaker Alberto Antonini, is like stepping back in time a few centuries.

You can see Lake Garda from the top of La Grola vineyard which was bought by Giovanni Allegrini in 1979 to create Valpolicella’s first single vineyard Corvina. Intense yet elegant with a bouquet of wild berries, juniper, tobacco and coffee.

Coste & Fossati is a selection of antique biotypes of Dolcetto, selected by Aldo Vajra between 1978 and 1985, and grafted in two of the best vineyards of Bricco di Vergne in Barolo (the vineyard Coste and Fossati). They produce an intense and spiced Dolcetto.

Castagni Reverdito Barolo is brick red in colour with a nose of cherry, raspberry, strawberry, mocha, leather and floral notes. It is full-bodied with bright acidity, lean tannins, and rich flavors of raspberries, cherries, anise, oak and spice.

Accessible and delicious example of a modern style of Amarone in a distinctive black frosted bottle.

The wine has a lovely and intense dark garnet colour. It exudes aromas and flavours of black cherries, chocolate, coffee, and raisins, along with a note of almonds. Despite a formidable structure, the palate is velvety, spicy and elegant, with an extremely long and lingering finish.

Complex, elegant and intense. Notes of ripe cherry, chocolate and tobacco. Mildly spicy and floral.
This wine has great structure with smooth tannins and a long and juicy finish with great acidity.

This Barbera comes from the Conca Tre Pile vineyard which is situated on a steeply sloping part of the Bussia Soprana hill. Here the Barbera vines are up to 45 years old and give a full bodied, concentrated and spicy wine.

A magnificent Amarone - a bitter-sweet cherry delight!

A clear ruby red colour, with light orange reflections; a rather intense and classic aroma, with a slight scent of wood and presence of wild berries. A lovely and harmonious taste with scents of liquorice and sweet tannins.

A wonderful, age-worthy wine that combines plum fruit with dried herbs, chocolate, leather, cloves, and nutmeg. Wonderful integrated tannins and acidity give this wine real finesse and balance.
2015 was described as a "fairy tale" vintage.

Based in south-central Montalcino, Fosscolle has four hectares of vineyards, 2.5 of which are destined for Brunello. Their Brunello shows great balance, elegance and complexity which will continue to develop in the bottle.

Barolo Lecinquevigne distinguishing features are a hue of ruby red with orange-tinted reflections and an intense aroma of rose, leather and tobacco in sequence with hints of violet and tar emerging.
Its taste is ample and enveloping with a feeling of softness and a long, persistent savour prevailing in the mouth.

Given the elevated concentration of the noble components, this vintage was characterised by wines of optimal potential. The bouquet is intense and yet delicate. A robust structure, good alcohol levels and optimal polyphenolic components and acidity have allowed for wines which are typical and ideal for long cellaring.
This is full-bodied with exceptional black fruit intensity. A big structure with supple tannins and a long, persistent finish.

Amarone is the result of Allegrini’s skill in creating a modern wine with a strong connection to tradition. Sourced from Classico area hillside vineyards, grapes are dried for a rich, powerful wine with characteristic dried cherry aromas and a tremendous structure.

The “Vigna Rionda” vineyard is in one of the best positions in Serralunga: when Giovanni and Renato Massolino decided to buy it, they exchanged it for a larger vineyard. It produces a powerful, concentrated wine, suitable for long ageing.

Medium red in colour with brick tones. On the nose, this wine is all spices and cloves. On the palate, it is lean with a great structure. It has flavours of bitter cherries and earthy liquorice. The finish is good with a lingering persistence in the mouth.

"Earthy aromas of bark, sand, truffles, graphite, rust, terracotta and sandalwood rise up from the deep with Burgundian poise; fruitier orange zest and preserved lemons glimmer in their wake, while riper incense and tar lurk in this dense forest of aromas. Physics itself gives way as the line between reduction and oxidation is blurred. There's such richness to the center palate, but the fruit there is vivacious and elegant, swaddled in robust but generous tannins that breach the outermost reaches of the mouth. The finish is hauntingly long, the after effects of the acidity unworldly. "

La Poja covers 2.6 hectares at the top of La Grola. It is a rare plot of limestone, rich in iron and magnesium. Giovanni Allegrini decided immediately that this was going to be his top cru, made from 100% Corvina.

The wine veers towards the modern and international side of the Brunello style spectrum. Thanks to the high caliber of the vintage, style does not trump quality. The bouquet peels back to reveal black cherry, black currant, spice, cigar box and rosemary twig. Distant notes of chocolate and toasted almond play supporting roles. The wine offers extraordinary texture with firm tannins that are balanced out against the soft plushness of the fruit. This is a terrific Brunello.

A complex Barolo, very fruity, elegant, intense, spicy, with flowery touches

A blend of Cinsault, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, its unoaked, full of fresh primary fruit flavours whilst retaining the essential Musar style.

The cooler 1998 has an elegant Cinsault dominance; the colour is lighter and more delicately perfumed than a typical vintage. Despite this initial impression, the wine is deceptively powerful with a vibrant acidity and fresh, soft red fruit flavours and a very long, spicy finish. The ideal partner to mushroom and game dishes.
