A very small D.O. (just over 500 hectares) just north of Barcelona. With land prices rocketing and urban areas gradually encroaching into wine territory the area is less fashionable and wine production has declined in recent years. Having said that there are many excellent properties making fresh, aromatic and vibrant wines mainly from the Pansa Blanca grape but Chardonnay is also significant.
