This Primitivo displays aromas of dried fruit, exotic spices, white pepper and chocolate. The mouth feel is round and intense with layers upon layers of soft elegant tannins, vanilla, prunes, coffee and underbrush. The finish is elegant and persistent and extremely well balanced. Served with game, meat dishes and hard cheeses.

An innovative baby Super-Tuscan, Dogajolo combines the power and deep flavours of a young wine, with the elegance and balance from the oak ageing. Full bodied, yet soft on the palate with fruity cherry notes interlaced with coffee, vanilla and spice, this is complex and well-developed.

Constantly picking up gongs for brilliant value for money (Wine Spectator and others), Ciconia Tinto combines approachability with Alentejo's most likeable features of rich, soft fruit, with a bit of roast and dried fruit notes.

Ciconia, for the benefit of non-twitchers, is the latin genus for the stork, and Ciconia Ciconia is the white stork, which so likes to breed in this region.

A classic Vinho Verde, with some gentle spritz and medium / medium-dry. It boasts wonderful green-grassy freshness and is thoroughly moreish.

Portugal’s most popular Douro white wine and it is easy to see why. Vinified from grapes grown at high altitude (Planalto translates as “High Plains”) to retain freshness and delicacy in this hot region, this is a deliciously vibrant wine boasting ripe citrus and floral aromas.

Beyra tinto offers an unoaked expression of cruncy berry fruit and spice, with super acidity. Less on tannin, more on flavour.

Red wines from the Dao should always demonstrate a certain succulence from a combination of altitude and granitic soils, but Maias Tinto goes the extra mile. At these even higher vineyards (around 650m), Jaen (Tinta Mencia) captures in the glass delicious crunchy fruit in this medium bodied wine.

Maias is the local name for the Weaver's Broom plant which surrounds the estate here (its yellow flowers blossom in May in this part of Dao, hence its nickname - Maio is the word for May).

The Serra Mãe is made from 100% Castelão, grown on the free-draining, sandy soils West of Palmela. It was naturally fermented (no added yeast), and then subsequently aged, in concrete vats.

A great Douro blend expressing crunchy red fruit, with depth and freshness. On the palate, it is elegantly fruity, with a markedly mineral profile. With a superb drinkability owing to its balance, this wine very much exhibits the uncomplicated style that Niepoort set out to achieve.

Ruby in colour with complex aromas of raspberry and cherry, with a hint of spice and black cherry. Medium to light bodied wine with lovely soft tannins, giving this wine it’s lovely long finish.

Fetească Regală (or Royal Maiden in English) is the Royal grape exclusive to Romania. It is a cross between two grape varieties – Fetească Albă and Grasă de Cotnari and again originates from Transylvania. Regală has the aromatic quality of Fetească Albă but is a weightier grape with more body.
The Regală also has a citrusy edge to its character with lots of orange and lemony fruit. Fetească Regală works well with oak and can produce bigger wines with a slightly spicy finish.
