A tasty drop of bitter cherries and rounded tannins - sumptuous!This is the perfect accompaniment to Italian antipasti, soups, pasta dishes and to the wide variety of dishes that the Mediterranean area has to offer. Valpolicella also compliments roasted and grilled white meats. It is also an ideal summer red to drink with fish dishes.
Serve at 16 C (61 F)and open the bottle a few minutes before drinking.

A wine made from grapes of the mentioned varieties which are later mixed to make a blend that combines the Cabernet Franc (concentrated and generous), Mandó & Summol and the bouquet provided by the four months oak ageing. Post bottled to continue the process of ageing in bottle.

Convento San Francisco Selección Especial 2018 is made up of 2 small, very old Tempranillo vineyards under the D.O. Ribera del Duero, located in the municipalities of Gumiel de Izán and Quintana del Pidio, 65 years on average. They are located at 850 meters above sea level on slopes and moors. The soils are composed of sand with gravel and red clay.
The plots were harvested on October 5, 2018, manually, in 15 kg boxes. These were received through a double selection table, of bunches and grapes.
It fermented and macerated in a small tank at controlled temperature for 26 days with daily manual pumping over and beating.
Aged for 21 months in 225 L French oak Bordeaux barrels.

full and round with some ripe leather on the nose and a wonderfully fresh blackberry and apple pie body. This is so far removed from other Napa wines which can go wel over the top or the overbearing mint humbug style of Australian Coonawara. A really classy wine
