This excellent Chardonnay (unoaked of course, as are all the Serbal wines) has quickly gained a reputation in the trade as a go-to wine sitting above entry level but not breaking any banks. It shows considerable elegance, varietal character and poise for a wine at this price level, perhaps elucidating the French bias in this winery.

After several years of experimentation with varying toast levels and various barrel producers, Susana Balbo has created a Torrontés that takes this varietal into a whole new sphere of influence. A beautiful lemon and lime sherbet style classic Riesling. Very fresh and crisp with layers of waxy stone fruit and floral notes finishing on a lovely almost toasty note.

The gundog winnery take pride with the wild Semillon by pushing boundaries of conventional winemaking by fermenting a portion of the wine on skins (like a red wine) using natural or “indigenous” yeast. The aim is to create a very textural and complex style of Semillon that showcases another side of this great wine grape.

With tasting notes of very aromatic lemongrass, peach and some herbal tea notes. The palate is bright and fleshy with some residual sweetness there to offset phenolics (tannin) and acidity.

From the coolest and highest vineyard in the Watervale sub-region comes this vibrant and aromatic Riesling.

From 'The King of Riesling', this hard rock site is overlaid with silty, low fertility soils, producing restrained, steely, pure wines. The Polish Hill vineyard was planted in 1996, following years of research into the effect of soil, rock and altitude on Riesling.

Best known for his Rieslings, Jeff Grosset's Chardonnay is also known for its pure expression of variety and place. Free-run juice fermented in French oak and 30% malolactic fermentation has resulted in a riotously perfumed Chardonnay with bright, fresh fruit.

A weightier style of Grüner than some, including Pfaffl's own The Dot Apple Grüner, thanks to a later harvest and more skin contact. Rich apple fruit, with a hint of pepper and a mineral, citrus zesty finish.

A soft and flattering Pinot Blanc with a gentle aroma of white flowers and generous fruit. This lively wine has fresh apple, white peach and spice flavours. There is good weight on the palate yet it is soft and supple and finishes with a firm acidity.

This wild fermented Riesling from the oldest vines planted in 1980 at the estate’s Butlers’ Grant Vineyard is aged on its lees for six months and undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation. It has a mineral rich nose of salinity and wet stones with lemon/lime zest, green apple, peach, and those vineyard-specific ginger notes always prevalent from this vineyard. That lees aging brings out a creamy feel on the palate with green pear, gushing lime, lemon zest and, yes, more ginger in a more rounded, texturally satisfying style with just a touch of sweetness tempered by the racy acidity.

100% traditional method Chardonnay. Fresh lemon, leesy notes, and green apple. Persistent on the palate with bright and fresh lemon cream.

A nose of tropical fruit flavours leads to a mouthful of guava and mango.
