A no frills red and a stalwart of Boutinot's house wine offering, Cuvée Jean-Paul Rouge captures the magic combination of drinkability and complexity.

Grenache Noir for body, Cinsault for freshness and a touch of spice from a drop of Syrah.

Each vintage, from the base in Cairanne, selected exceptional Grenache and Syrah are picked from the best Côtes du Rhône Villages to make Les Coteaux, which is then enriched with classified wine from Séguret, Sablet and the cru of Cairanne.

Aromas of boxwood, wild juniper and cistus flowers give way to notes of red fruit, cherry and redcurrant. The sensation in the mouth is delicate, smooth and balanced with a succulently fruity and spicy finish.

High up the ‘slopes of schist’ in the rugged mountainous terroir of Séguret lies a single vineyard so predominantly planted with Grenache Noir (intermingled only here and there with some Syrah) that the resulting wine – Les Coteaux Schisteux – comes close to being one of the purest expressions of Grenache Noir in the southern Rhône valley.

Made only when our assemblage tastings of La Côte Sauvage reveal two outstanding barrels - 'Deux Barriques' - that merit bottling in their own right. Presented in a wooden gift box vintages include the celebrated triumvate of 2010, 2011 and 2012 with vintages from 2015 onwards released as cru Cairanne AOC.
