The area of Sauternes is a small region located on the left bank of the Garonne 40km south-east of Bordeaux. This area is crossed by the Ciron, a small tributary of the Garonne. The Sauternes appellation covers approximately 1956 hectare over the territory of five towns: Sauternes (416 ha), Bommas, Fargues, Preignac and Barsac.
The wines of Sauternes are sweet, but also fine and delicate. Their ‘roti’ bouquet develops well with ageing, becoming rich and complex with crystallized orange, hazel nut and honey notes. The ‘roti’ is the specific character given by the noble rot to Sauternes wines.

The nose reveals notes of citrus zest, candied fruit and flowers combined with hints of dried apricot along with slight notes of spice and minerality. The palate is fresh, balanced, mineral and offers a good tension. In the mouth it expresses notes of citrus zest, green lemon zest and slight notes of apple, dried apricot and peach. Good length on the finish.

Fantastic dessert wine - peach, citrus, caramel and vanilla are evident in this wine. It has a lingering finish. Very ripe and pure. A top vintage which will cellar well for another 10 years.
