Only white wine may be labelled Rueda which has about 6000 hectares under vine, with Verdejo, Viura, Palomino and Sauvignon Blanc widely spread.
The region is commonly associated with rancio-style sherries and it is still the thing to do to sip a glass of the local nectar in one of the village bars.
