This Domaine Horgelus red wine is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tannat, the latter being a local grape variety making rich and powerful reds. The wine has a fabulous concentration with aromas of blackcurrant, licquorice and spices. On the palate it has soft, ripe tannins to support the dark fruit flavours. Smooth and deeply flavoured it is the ideal accompaniment to grilled or roast meats and soft cheeses.

Ô de Rosé is a tribute to their singular terroir, to the scenic grandeur of the local landscape and to the heartening Northern wind protecting their vineyards. This patchwork of climates and terroirs is the secret behind Ô: the grapes are slowly matured in perfect weather conditions and produce a crisp and elegantly balanced wine.

High up the ‘slopes of schist’ in the rugged mountainous terroir of Séguret lies a single vineyard so predominantly planted with Grenache Noir (intermingled only here and there with some Syrah) that the resulting wine – Les Coteaux Schisteux – comes close to being one of the purest expressions of Grenache Noir in the southern Rhône valley.

From the heart of the Loire Valley this wine is pure opulence. All the fruit is from a small limestone-rich vineyard in the heart of the Loire. Honeyed pear, quince, yellow apple dominate the palate with a slight smoky quality. The palate is rich yet zippy, complex yet fresh. Try with shellfish or pork. This will cellar for another 10 years or so. Biodynamic.
