Browse by Grape - Cabernet Franc
One of the lesser known Bordeaux red varieties although its more prominent in the Loire Valley. Despite this the legendary name of Château Cheval Blanc has occasionally had a 100% Cabernet Franc make up in its wine. Normally blended in Bordeaux but often bottled undiluted in the Loire, this rich red grape should produce a wine with a raspberry character with more apparent fruitiness than its more Famous Cabernet Sauvignon cousin. Now planted across the wine globe, with worthy mentions going to New Zealand and Australia.

Drink now, but will keep
Small parcels of Cabernet Franc have proved especially successful on the Waterkloof Estate. Now worthy of it's own bottling this displays terrific black berry fruit, with a dusting of ripe earthy tannins.
A wine of poise and balance, well worth investigating.
