Formiga is a wine that gently soothes the palate!

Super-charged Vino de la Tierra from near Cadiz.

85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Syrah. A glass-coating opaque purple colour, it exhibits an expressive bouquet of smoke, graphite, spice box, violets, blackcurrant, and blackberry. Dense and sweet on the palate, this plush offering is locked and loaded. Give it 1-2 years to blossom and pull the trigger.

Tempranillo and Syrah. Structured, balanced, silky, full of ripe fruit.

The deep crimson-coloured 2006 Quinta Sardonia gives up an aromatic array of cedar, Asian spices, incense, and blackberry. Savoury and supple on the palate, it has enough underlying structure to evolve for 2-3 years and should be at its best from 2012 to 2026.

Mouthwatering notes of strawberry guava and a hint of grapefruit lead into a crisp and refreshing texture on the palate. True to Klinker Brick style, this wine retains an exceptional balance of freshness and aromatics, while still providing the dry finish.

Bright red with a dense black core, this wine has concentrated aromas of plum, blackberry and dark chocolate with a hint of fennel. The palate is quintessentially 'Black Queen', with a gentle mousse, naturally low in tannins, soft and abundant in rich blue fruit flavours and a Christmas cake finish. Best enjoyed now, however, will comfortably develop further in the cellar for a further 10-12 years.
