The Capitel della Crosara vineyard lies in the heart of the Valpolicella region and gives its name to Montresor's top Amarone and Ripassso. This is an excellent example with bright, fresh cherry fruit.

Allegrini’s take on the “Ripasso” method is made from a portion of grapes dried just for this wine (and not from the Amarone pomace). It's a smooth, velvety wine with ripe, juicy dark fruit and silky tannins.

The hilltop town of Montepulciano lies in the south of Tuscany near the town of Siena. The surrounding vineyards are planted with indigenous Sangiovese grapes (Prugnolo), used to produce one of Italy`s noblest red wines. Susanna Crociani blends Sangiovese with a little Canaiolo and Mammolo, and traditional winemaking methods encourage extraction of voluptuous fruit character, with a distinct mineral and subtle oak influence after two and a half years in barrel and a further six months in bottle. The wine is ruby red with an orange tint, leading to a delicate and intense wine.

You can see Lake Garda from the top of La Grola vineyard which was bought by Giovanni Allegrini in 1979 to create Valpolicella’s first single vineyard Corvina. Intense yet elegant with a bouquet of wild berries, juniper, tobacco and coffee.

Amarone is the result of Allegrini’s skill in creating a modern wine with a strong connection to tradition. Sourced from Classico area hillside vineyards, grapes are dried for a rich, powerful wine with characteristic dried cherry aromas and a tremendous structure.

La Poja covers 2.6 hectares at the top of La Grola. It is a rare plot of limestone, rich in iron and magnesium. Giovanni Allegrini decided immediately that this was going to be his top cru, made from 100% Corvina.

Dark garnet with a bright purple rim. Generous aromas of black cherries, clove and raspberry leading to a smooth and juicy palate with redolent ripe mulberries and glimmers of spice from gentle oaking. Finishes with appealing length and savouriness.

Alluring aromas of floral notes and plum with hints of spicy fruit. The palate expresses white pepper spice, spicy plum and dark berries with a long, fresh finish.

Deep, purple core. Rich, berry fruit aromas with lots of ripe, red plum and hints of white pepper. Some floral notes in the background, including violets, lavender, and spring blossoms. The palate displays dark fruit flavours, revealing white pepper, cinnamon, clove and vanilla spice. Gentle oak integration bodes well for a long and graceful bottle maturation of this wine. 97% Syrah, 3% Viognier.

Mourvedre is perfect for Waterkloof, with its head in the sun and feet in the sea. So, not one to follow fashion, Paul Boutinot has made it the most planted red grape on this biodynamic farm. Despite this confidence, nobody could have anticipated such spectacular results when upon the release of the first vintage from 2015, the wine garnered a rave review and score of 94 points by Tim Atkin MW.

The wine has a bouquet of wild bramble berry like fruit that is backed up by layers of all-spice and cinnamon. On the palate there are layers of summer berries that give way to a rich yet elegant mid-palate. The wine has a deceptive complexity that shows a lingering finish that has hints of Christmas cake!!

Full bodied style with intense colour and prominent varietal character, rich plummy flavours and a nice soft velvety finish.

Cabernet Sauvignon is the most suited varietal to Waterford Estate soils, making up 35% of the total plantings.

Ripe dark fruits and a smokey finish.

A medium-bodied red from the Jumilla region of southern Spain. Ripe, juicy and forward with aromas of red berries. Fresh, forward, and easy to drink, with ripe plummy fruit and a hint of spice and chocolate on the finish.

Attractive red cherry colour with violet tones. The nose is intense with fruit aromas (blackberry, strawberry and blueberry ) with shades of blue flowers ( violet). Marking wooden background nicely integrated without this never superimpose on the fruit.
Mouth – balanced, fresh, tasty , long, and with a final full of aromatic sensations .

Ruby colour. In the nose crystallized fruit, sweet and subtly toasted spices thanks to the time spent in the barrel. Medium intensity in the mouth with a balanced tannin.
