Germans were the first free immigrants into Australia in the 1850s onwards. They planted Shiraz in Barossa. Germans also invented letter-press in the 1500s. The suspicion around the “magick” of a printing press at the coupled with the inky hands of the printers meant that the art became known as the Black Craft. The wine is an homage to both the German influence of the oldest wine making in Australia, as well as the letterpress.

This Domaine Horgelus red wine is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tannat, the latter being a local grape variety making rich and powerful reds. The wine has a fabulous concentration with aromas of blackcurrant, licquorice and spices. On the palate it has soft, ripe tannins to support the dark fruit flavours. The nose has red cherries and currants in abundance, these red fruits follow through on the palate with a menthol note and spicy pepper. The wine has beautiful structure with fine tannins and a long and powerful finish.

An approachable, modern Languedoc red that’s all about drinkability and freshness — best enjoyed young with charcuterie, grilled meats or Mediterranean dishes.

A fresh, clean nose of ripe, crushed strawberries with a touch of jam. Full and well-balanced on the palate, with red and black fruit (red currants, blackberries and blackcurrants). A fine wine, poised and full of flavour, with a spicy finish and a hint of truffle and liquorice. A very elegant wine with silky tannins.

A brilliant deep purple red colour. The nose, typical of this appellation bordering with Spain whose vines spread over the foothills of the Pyrenees, harbours black fruit and notes of garrigue with juniper and spices offering the powerful fragrance that is specific to the Roussillon. Generous, with cinnamon, liquorice and white pepper, followed by hints of blackberry and blackcurrant with a beautifully fresh, lightly menthol finish. Excellent balance with great harmony between maturity, freshness and silky tannins. A wine that is typically Mediterranean and superbly elegant at the same time.

Aromas of boxwood, wild juniper and cistus flowers give way to notes of red fruit, cherry and redcurrant. The sensation in the mouth is delicate, smooth and balanced with a succulently fruity and spicy finish.

Tannat softened down with Cabernet Franc – Great weight and density, with power from tannins but fruit and supple juiciness from blackberry and black cherry notes.

A brilliantly inexpensive Languedoc Pinot Noir from an iconic producer.

Deep, rich purple in the glass, almost opaque at the core. On the nose: ripe dark fruits such as black cherry and plum with smoky oak, leather, a touch of earthy undergrowth and some sweet spices like liquorice. On the palate it's full bodied, robust and quite structured, there’s generous dark fruit, balanced by savoury, mineral tones and firm tannins. The oak adds nuance but not sweetness, giving hints of vanilla and toast. Finish is long and slightly dry with lingering black fruit, spice and a subtle leathery note. A powerful wine that drinks well now (with decanting) and should develop further complexity with a few more years of bottle age.

Bright purple with vivid, youthful hues. The nose opens with vibrant red fruit — cherry, raspberry — mingled with darker berry notes like blackberry, all lifted by a fresh, herbal breeze of garrigue and a subtle lift of anise. On the palate it is soft and gentle: the fruit is tender and juicy, with good freshness but no harsh edges. Tannins are light, the finish smooth and approachable. This is a fragrant, easy-drinking Cinsault with charm and character, best enjoyed in its youth over the next few years.

Medium bodied, dry red wine blend with a deep ruby colour. Fruity aromas of ripe cherries and plum on the nose. Refreshing palate with notes of sour cherry and red fruit, followed by a long mineral finish. Great structure, firm acidity. An elegant and balanced, fruit- driven wine.

Approachable, yet satisfyingly complex, style of Nebbiolo. A great introduction to this varietal at an accessible price-point.
