Rustenberg is a well-known producer of high quality Chardonnays; the Stellenbosch Chardonnay embodies their house style.

Named after a former owner of Rustenberg, John Xavier Merriman, who bought the farm in 1892 in sympathy with farmers suffering from the phylloxera crisis.

a ripe medium full-bodied wine, with ripe apple, melon and peach with a touch of minerality. A very complex wine with a long and creamy finish.

It is characterized by an upfront perfume, intermingled with concentrated cassis, black cherries and some herbaceousness.
