Named after a former WWII air force base where the grapes are grown, this is a real ‘Spitfire’ of a wine. Selected from the two finest small blocks of Raparua’s Murphy vineyard, this is a rich, full Sauvignon Blanc.

A New Zealand sauvignon unlike many others. Fermented in old oak with wild yeasts, this wine has taken on a more complex character, with bold passionfruit and rosemary notes on the nose, creamy medium-bodied palate with peach, melon and savoury flavours. Distinctive and delicious.

Pale straw in colour with strong herbaceous aromas and just a hint of fennel. Good balance between acidity and body give this wine its long aftertaste.

A parcel of attractively ripe, textural Sem Sauv, showing some evolution but still holding up well thanks to the quality of old vine Semillon, 30% naturally fermented, and extended ageing on lees before bottling. Excellent wine for the money.

Windswept Sauvignon Blanc is not concocted from over-cropped grapes, nor pumped up on clever wine making additives. This authentic wine comes from cool, windswept, coastal vineyards. These gems give up meagre yields of small berries, imbued with their own natural acidity and intensity.

What is unique about Franschhoek is the high but good acidity, according to winemaker Ryan Puttick. Expressive tropical aromas tinged with capsicum open up to attractive Cape gooseberry, grapefruit and pineapple fruit flavours balanced by a lively but gentle coated acidity that follows
through to a beautifully fresh finish of pleasing length. A hint of Semillon adds breadth and fills the mid-palate.

A wine that symbolises longevity, like the legacy of the original Huguenot families which has endured long after they were buried in the town’s original churchyard. Blackcurrants and violets captivate on entry, followed by concentrated dark berry flavours and spicy tobacco oak.

Amongst the white washed houses of Arcos de la Frontera, Andalucia, lies Finca Moncloa, a small vineyard owned by Gonzalez Byass. The Finca grows fruit with unique concentration and depth of flavour. Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grapes are hand selected and skilfully blended to create a velvety smooth, full bodied wine with complex flavours of ripe, red berry fruit, vanilla and spice.

Dark garnet in colour with a bouquet that is full of dark berry fruit, such as Blueberry, Blackberry and Black Cherry. Oak aging has contributed just a hint of smoke to the nose. The round, creamy wine delivers an abundance of the fruit flavours promised by the olfactory. The fruit and oak are well integrated and the complexity of the wine plays on the tongue long after the wine has been ingested.
