Tuscany

An innovative baby Super-Tuscan, Dogajolo combines the power and deep flavours of a young wine, with the elegance and balance from the oak ageing. Full bodied, yet soft on the palate with fruity cherry notes interlaced with coffee, vanilla and spice, this is complex and well-developed.

This wine has a velvety texture and aromatic notes of violets, berries and cherries. This Chianti Classico is well rounded and beautifully balanced on the palate, with velvety tannins leading to a long, delicate finish.

A more juicy and approachable sangiovese than its big brother, Brunello. The blackberry, red and black cherry fruit is ripe and fragrant while the acidity keeps the wine fresh and vibrant on the palate. The wine still has good structure in the mouth with firm and ripe tannins that hold up well against rich food dishes.

The hilltop town of Montepulciano lies in the south of Tuscany near the town of Siena. The surrounding vineyards are planted with indigenous Sangiovese grapes (Prugnolo), used to produce one of Italy`s noblest red wines. Susanna Crociani blends Sangiovese with a little Canaiolo and Mammolo, and traditional winemaking methods encourage extraction of voluptuous fruit character, with a distinct mineral and subtle oak influence after two and a half years in barrel and a further six months in bottle. The wine is ruby red with an orange tint, leading to a delicate and intense wine.

Paolo De Marchi's excellent Chianti Classico is elegant and supple, full of perfumed fruit, with depth, structure and minerality.

Tenuta Di Arceno's Il Fauno di Arcanum is a beautifully crafted red wine that hails from the Tuscany region of Italy, known for its stunning Chianti vineyards. Each sip boasts hints of dark fruit, chocolate, and spice, with a smooth and long lasting finish. The grapes used in this wine are grown on the lush hillsides of the estate where the warm Tuscan sun and years of expertise from the winemakers come together to create a truly exceptional vintage. Perfect for pairing with hearty meats and robust Italian cuisine, Tenuta Di Arceno's Il Fauno di Arcanum is a must-try for any wine enthusiast.

Remarkably supple considering its youthfulness, this Brunello shows the classic characters of sweet toasty oak and earthy fruit that sangiovese typically produces. Complex and ripe tannic structure, this is a wine that will develop in bottle for a number of years to come but can give great pleasure now if decanted for a couple of hours prior to drinking.

The wine veers towards the modern and international side of the Brunello style spectrum. Thanks to the high caliber of the vintage, style does not trump quality. The bouquet peels back to reveal black cherry, black currant, spice, cigar box and rosemary twig. Distant notes of chocolate and toasted almond play supporting roles. The wine offers extraordinary texture with firm tannins that are balanced out against the soft plushness of the fruit. This is a terrific Brunello.

A dessert wine made from choice white grapes of the Malvasia del Chianti and Pulcinculo (Grechetto Bianco) varieties, selected at harvest-time and are laid out to dry until the beginning of February. The storing and ageing of the wine then takes place in small oak barrels which impart flavours of sweet spice and vanilla to the finished wine. It is amber in colour, the aroma is intense with notes of ripe fruit and it is broad, velvety and mouth-filling on the palate.

An exceptional dessert wine made using traditional methods. Trebbiano grapes are carefully selected and dried for several months. The must is fermented and aged for more than five years in wooden casks made of chestnut, oak, cherry and mulberry.

Aromas of dark berry, violet and scorched earth take shape on this. The bright palate offers juicy Marasca cherry, clove and star anise alongside polished tannins and fresh acidity.

Given the elevated concentration of the noble components, this vintage was characterised by wines of optimal potential. The bouquet is intense and yet delicate. A robust structure, good alcohol levels and optimal polyphenolic components and acidity have allowed for wines which are typical and ideal for long cellaring. This is full-bodied with exceptional black fruit intensity. A big structure with supple tannins and a long, persistent finish.
