Albarín is a grape variety originally from Asturias and which spread throughout Cantabria and Castilla y León. It almost disappeared until 10 years ago when winegrowers began to replant it. You can still find vines that are more than 100 years old.

Bright white foam and a steady stream of bubbles flow through the golden straw colour of this 100% Chardonnay from Burgundy. Biscuit and cream on the nose. The palate shows crisp acidity and notes of green apple, pear, and toast, with a chalky, limestone finish.

The fruity nose of bright red apple and notes of lime is dominating, along with notes of white flower, honeysuckle and acacia flower aromas. On the palate, the bubbles are delicate, and a welcome green spine of celery and lime cordial rein in those rich flavours and textures, making for a complex fizz with a ripe strawberry finish.

It seems crazy that grand Cru fizz can be obtained so cheaply. Superb.

The grapes for this house come from the Bouzy Grand Cru and are a blend of 20% Chardonnay and 80% Pinot Noir. With notes of dried fruits, toasted brioche and pretty red fruits on the finish.

100% Grand Cru, 100% delicious. A Martinez exclusive that's drinking well now but with plenty of scope for development.

This is a crisp, fruity Brut Champagne with honey, pastry and wonderful balance.

The surprising freshness that tickles as it lingers, makes this wine suitable for all occasions. A fine aperitif that is also excellent with shellfish.

A fresh, zesty cava that will suit any celebration. Fantastic value. It is light golden in colour, with delicate small bubbles. The aromas are powerful and fruity, reminiscent of flowers and honey. The flavours are well developed and balanced.

Rioja's excellent Bodegas Muga makes tiny quantities of this fine sparkling wine from viura grapes grown on the Prado Enea vineyards in Rioja Alta. Classy, gentle and serious.

Lágrima (meaning 'tears') is the sweetest style of white Port.

With a brilliant dark red appearance and good depth on the rim, the wine exhibits aromas of cherries and dark plums along with a fine minty, liquorice aroma. On the palate, well integrated tannins dominate along with superbly evolved fruit and good length. A vibrant wine starting to show some bottle age. It is certainly drinking beautifully now but it can be aged for several decades.

Aged following a biological aging in the cool and humid air of the port town of El Puerto de Santa María, where the flor grows in ideal environmental conditions.
Pale straw colour, dry, light and smooth. This Fino is laced with scents of the sea and profound “flor” aromas. Clean and fresh, with a slight taste of tangy yeast.

Cream Sherry is an Oloroso that has been sweetened with the Pedro Ximénez grapes. Rich, dark and sweet, with traditional Cream character.

Fino style Sherries age under a layer of “flor” (a naturally occurring layer of yeast that grows on top of the wine in the barrel); this ensures the wines do not oxidise as there is no exposure to the air. The cooler maritime microclimate of Sanlúcar ensures flor grows particularly thickly all year round producing these very fresh, tangy Manzanillas, unlike the more oxidised Finos aged in the inland town of Jerez, where the flor dies back in the winter and summer months.

Barbadillo’s Finos are more Manzanilla-like in style, but are aged in Bodegas with less exposure to the cooling sea breezes. The flor in the barrels grows vigorously in these cellars so the wine is a little more nutty and toasty than the more appley and yeasty Manzanillas of Sanlucar.

Leonor Palo Cortado is the latest addition to the superior range. Aged for over 12 years it has fine aromas of wood, vanilla and almonds. The palate is nutty and perfectly integrated with a long finish.

Bright, straw-like yellow colour with diamond sheen. Penetrating aromas of almonds and olives. Light and dry on the palate with hints of salt and wine with a pleasant bitterness on the finish.
