Cabernet Sauvignon

Château La Gurgue Margaux 2020 is a beautifully balanced blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and 6% Petit Verdot. Aged for 12 months, with 60% in barrels and 40% in vats. The nose is aromatic. It reveals woody notes, cassis cream, blackberry and slight notes of violet associated with touch of spices, chocolate, Sichuan pepper (discreet) as well as a very slight hints of tea and an imperceptible hint of bell pepper. The palate is fruity, mineral and well-balanced. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, plum and slight notes of cassis associated with hints of redcurrant, toasted oak, chocolate and sweet spices. Tannins are fine and well-built. The finish is slightly suave.

Exhibiting aromas of rich currant fruit and creamy new oak, the 2019 Siran is medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with lively acids and ripe, powdery tannins that assert themselves on the youthfully chewy finish. On average, the vines are 35 years of age & the terroir of Cos Labory is gravel and limestone soil with patches of clay typical of the St. Estephe appellation. A charming Saint-Estèphe worthy of its classification... The Château, a domaine ranked fifth in the Médoc, in the Saint-Estèphe appellation is managed by the Audoy family, who make balanced and sincere wines that respect the land. Crisp, fragrant, with solid but well coated tannins, this vintage is impressive.

Classic, weighty Claret from St Estephe.

This superb 5th Growth Pauillac is owned by the Rothschild family, now for the third generation. With vineyards perfectly positioned next to First Growths Lafite and Mouton, the only surprise is its classification isn't higher. A 95-pt masterpiece.

A blend of 70% Corvina, 20% Rondinella and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from low-yielding vineyards in Verona. Half of the Corvina grapes are left on the vine for longer, to concentrate the sugar and flavour. About 30% of the blend is aged for 12 months in American and French barriques. The nose shows complex aromas, reminiscent of prune, cherry and redcurrant; the palate is supple with a long finish.

A blend of Cinsault, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, its unoaked, full of fresh primary fruit flavours whilst retaining the essential Musar style.

The 2017 vintage looks to be very promising indeed, the wines of this year are unique, yet retaining classical Chateau Musar character. Three factors come to our minds, the similarity in style of the different decades ending in 7, the taste of the last vineyard of Cabernet Sauvignon harvested and powerful aromas. It has a bright ruby colour and there are sweet red cherries, mulberries and plums on the nose with a hint of tea tree and liquorice. The tannins are soft and well-integrated and this vintage has good acidity, depth of fruit and a long finish. Cellared well, it will age beautifully for decades.

A more elegant and restrained style of Musar - drinking beautifully already.

Made from Cabernet and Cinsault grown at 3000 feet, it has the character and nobility of an exotic, eccentric Bordeaux.

Rosé de Purcari is a refined spring day in an orchard of apricot blossoms. Grape varieties: 60% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Rara Neagră The pink colour is accompanied by a delicate aroma of exotic fruits. Sweet taste with notes of apricot, peach, and blackcurrant, passing slowly in an extended aftertaste with notes of berries.

Noble 5 is an intense ruby red wine with an aromatic complexity and taste. Blackcurrant, cherry and cherry jam flavours are going hand in hand with woody notes from the oak barrels. Full bodied and opulent with silky tannins.

A wine that symbolises longevity, like the legacy of the original Huguenot families which has endured long after they were buried in the town’s original churchyard. Blackcurrants and violets captivate on entry, followed by concentrated dark berry flavours and spicy tobacco oak.

The wine shows typical Cabernet Sauvignon flavour and aroma profiles of dark berries and tobacco with a well-structured and lengthy palate.

Kaapzicht's Estate Red is a Shiraz/Cabernet dominant blend from their estate vineyards in Stellenbosch.

Named after a former owner of Rustenberg, John Xavier Merriman, who bought the farm in 1892 in sympathy with farmers suffering from the phylloxera crisis.

The red clay and rich soils bring softer and plush elegant fruit to the aromatics. They also create tannins which are richer softer and sweeter to the other reds from the Waterford Estate. This blend consists of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Malbec.

Estate Reserve Red Blend (formerly Grand Vin de Glenelly) is the signature red wine of the estate, a blend of Shiraz, Cabernet, Merlot and Petit Verdot.

Kaapzicht's Pinotage comes from 20-year-old bush vines planted in weathered granite soil. The vineyards are all dry land, unirrigated.

A complex blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon with just a hint of Viognier. An opulent style with super-fine tannins and a luscious palate named for the distinctly chocolately notes on both the nose and palate.

Complex aromas of pure cassis, meat and oak spice lead to a well-integrated fruit centre with dense, but finely-tuned tannins. This is a wonderful blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Shiraz and 5% each of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot where the components are expressive but well-balanced and the whole is so much more than the parts. Powerful, explosive and medium- to full-bodied with the precision of 2017 shining through to a long-defined finish.
