Garganega

More interesting than most basic PGs!

NOTE: THIS IS A HALF BOTTLE (37.5cl) Fabulously perfumed stuff, and possibly the very best Soave Clsssico in existence. The reason lies both in the vineyards, which are vigorously maintained, and the rigorous fruit selection of the bought-in grapes. The wine is rich and balanced and with a searing flavour sadly absent from most modern Soave.

Painstakingly assembled Soave - aspects of spice, nuts, honey and almonds. Wonderful.

The soil of La Rocca is unique in Soave being a limestone outcrop in a sea of basalt. Single vineyard made solely from Garganega grapes, this has pure aromas of almonds and honey, with an intense, concentrated palate.

Golden yellow in colour, intense and persistent nose, floral and fruity, reminiscent of raisin grapes, plus a sweet note of honey and acacia, with an intense and persistent, mellow and elegant palate.

One of the most interesting and diverse sweet wines we've ever come across! Made from garganega grapes dried on straw mats for about five months!
