Tannat

This Domaine Horgelus red wine is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tannat, the latter being a local grape variety making rich and powerful reds. The wine has a fabulous concentration with aromas of blackcurrant, licquorice and spices. On the palate it has soft, ripe tannins to support the dark fruit flavours. Smooth and deeply flavoured it is the ideal accompaniment to grilled or roast meats and soft cheeses.

Intense red-purple in the glass. Initial smoky cloves and savoury notes give way to a plum and black cherry nose with hints of sweet oak spice. Medium bodied with well-integrated oak and fruit, this wine has a smooth tannin structure and lingering spice flavours.

A big and bold red wine from Uruguay; a deep and seductive purple in colour, with concentrated and complex aromas of ripe dark plum and spiced wood. The palate is full bodied with great density in the mouth and robust jammy wild friuts such as damson, persimmons, plum and ripe blackberry flavours. Grippy tannins hold this big wine together and leads into a long finish with lingering black fruits and spice. Suitable for Vegans

Named after the signature spice blend of South Africa, this huge wine is made from classic Rhône varieties. The blend changes every year to incorporate the best grapes from the Swartland vintage.
