A Tempranillo that was created from grapes selected from plots that grow at a high altitude with dominant primary notes (ripe red fruit) and is very full on the palate

Rich and classic, this has long been one of the most respected of its kind.

Deep ruby in colour. On the nose the delicate perfume unfolds with toasted and spicy characters at first, followed by liquorice, ripe red berry fruits and finally some mineral and balsamic notes. The palate is delicate and subtle, with silky tannins, a rounded body and an elegant, long lasting finish. A unique and complex wine.

Bright ruby in colour, the nose is full of red fruits and complemented by complex nuances of balsamic and spice. The palate is well rounded, full of juicy red fruits and balanced with an excellent acidity.

Delicate with a very round attack. It is a harmonious, complex wine with body and backbone, polished tannins and no sharp edges. Very well-balanced.

Sourced from vineyards over 50 years old, fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for 24 months in American oak. The nose has a great intensity of deep blackcurrant fruits with notes of vanilla and leather. Complex, well structured and persistent on the palate with smooth tannins.

Colour: Cherry red with garnet tones. Bright and clean. Aroma: Ripe red fruit and raisins. Eucalyptus, spicy and mineral notes. Taste: Well balanced, fresh and very intense.

Convento San Francisco Selección Especial 2018 is made up of 2 small, very old Tempranillo vineyards under the D.O. Ribera del Duero, located in the municipalities of Gumiel de Izán and Quintana del Pidio, 65 years on average. They are located at 850 meters above sea level on slopes and moors. The soils are composed of sand with gravel and red clay. The plots were harvested on October 5, 2018, manually, in 15 kg boxes. These were received through a double selection table, of bunches and grapes. It fermented and macerated in a small tank at controlled temperature for 26 days with daily manual pumping over and beating. Aged for 21 months in 225 L French oak Bordeaux barrels.

This exquisite and superb-value wine has a fine, elegant nose of fresh red-cherry fruit and sweet spice, and a perfumed bouquet with hints of pot pourri, raspberry tea and red liquorice. The acidity – one of López de Heredia’s trademarks – is astonishing, as is its complexity and freshness, while the finish is enduring, mouthcoating and intense.

Tomas Postigo has made with his name in Ribera del Duero mainly as the ex winemaker of Pago De Carraovejas. Tempranillo (Tinta Fina) 85%, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot, and aged for 12 months in new French oak is a very high quality wine. Big dark prune like fruit with a real meat edge this is a blockbuster of a wine.

The deep crimson-coloured 2006 Quinta Sardonia gives up an aromatic array of cedar, Asian spices, incense, and blackberry. Savoury and supple on the palate, it has enough underlying structure to evolve for 2-3 years and should be at its best from 2012 to 2026.

A powerful, mature wine. With a clearly defined personality, very expressive and difficult to forget. A powerful, full mouth-feel with firm but not aggressive tannins. Lively, but at the same time showing great balance between body, acidity and alcohol. A fruity aftertaste, highly expressive and persistent.

A blend of estate-grown grapes aged for six years in oak. It has aromas of vanilla and dried fruit, flavours of rich red fruit, fine tannins and a long finish.

In his Ribera Del Duero 2022 Special Report, Tim Atkin MW tasted his way through 578 wines from 160 producers and chose the 2020 Mirum as his top wine of the year, awarding it with 98 points. That rates it as high as Pingus & Unico at a fraction of the price. No small feat for this estate which is rocketing into the echelons of Spanish wine.

Deep, dark and purple, this Tempranillo has wonderful meaty aromas of bacon, apple, dark cherry and forest floor. This wine is truly Autumn in a glass with balanced flavours of dark bing cherry, orange-infused chocolate, blackberry and hickory smoke. It has a gentle and long finish.
