One of the great grapes of Madeira. This 10YR Verdelho has a lovely tangy apricot core , intermingled with some thrilling acidity that is the hallmark of Barbeito Madeiras. Keeps for an age in the fridge once opened, makes for a very stimulating aperitif. Off dry, but real complexity here, highly commended.

Aromas of dried apricots and tangerine, orange and lemon peel well integrated with a nutty character and hints of toffee, caramel, coffee and honey. The palate reveals dried fruits with a fiery spirity finish. With a great structure and a long finish."

The Bioma Crusted originates from the Pisca vineyard, as for the Bioma Vintage Port. This ancient vineyard (vinha velha) has been converted to organic viticulture and its low yields always result in amazing port wines that showcase the terroir and the vintage. In years where a Vintage Port declaration isn't possible, the wine is released as a crusted port.

A brick-red appearance with some light orange tinges leads into a fine slightly smokey aroma with hints of dried fruits. The palate is refreshing, with wonderful acidity and hints of dried apricots and crystallised fruit, leading to a lengthy mellow spirit driven finish.

Driest of the styles, Sercial is a cerebral Madeira. Seville orange, fig, dates and prunes compete for attention on the palate . The finish is long, stimulating and rewarding. Superb example.

Excellent bouquet with nutty character and mature fruits with an orange peel. Rich, sweet and smooth on the palate, it is perfectly balanced with a long and lingering finish.

Unfairly overlooked, this excellent Symington owned estate produces excellent vintage port at a very keen price considering the outstanding quality. Showing very well in this terrific vintage. One for the cellar.

Explosive aromas of blackberry, raspberry and spices. Rich and sweet with a good tannic structure and a great length.

We have a great Vintage on our hands, showing beautiful concentration, vigour and complexity, but with plenty of finesse and remarkable freshness.

Characteristically elegant, full bodied with a firm finish from powerful tannins. With concentrated fruits and well integrated alcohol with a spicy, peppery sweetness.

Fine, elegant, mineral but not balsamic. The taste continues fine, agressive and with tannins, rich but not excessive and with a long final. Impressive finesse even though robust.

A wonderful dark purple rim and great depth of colour characterise the wine’s appearance. The aromatic profile is dominated by superb youthful dark fruit. It is powerful on the initial attack, leading into a fresh mid-palate with beautifully seductive flavours of dark fruit. A great combination of power and elegance, ending in a bold, dry, lengthy and slightly green tannic finish. The length and structure of the 2017 vintage promise a long-lived wine with great ageing potential.
