Cabernet Franc

A deep ruby mulberry colour and immense bouquet with scents reminiscent of bell-pepper, red berries, spice and cigar box. A wine of ample structure that fills the palate with concentrated fruit and berry sensations. WOW just WOW!

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Baking spices, dark chocolate and black, vibrant fruits hint at the power to follow. Complex aromas of pure cassis, meat and oak spice lead to a well-integrated fruit centre with dense, but finely-tuned tannins. This is a wonderful blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Shiraz and 5% each of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot where the components are expressive but well-balanced and the whole is so much more than the parts. Powerful, explosive and medium- to full-bodied with the precision of 2017 shining through to a long-defined finish.

A wine made from grapes of the mentioned varieties which are later mixed to make a blend that combines the Cabernet Franc (concentrated and generous), Mandó & Summol and the bouquet provided by the four months oak ageing. Post bottled to continue the process of ageing in bottle.

The deep crimson-coloured 2006 Quinta Sardonia gives up an aromatic array of cedar, Asian spices, incense, and blackberry. Savoury and supple on the palate, it has enough underlying structure to evolve for 2-3 years and should be at its best from 2012 to 2026.

full and round with some ripe leather on the nose and a wonderfully fresh blackberry and apple pie body. This is so far removed from other Napa wines which can go wel over the top or the overbearing mint humbug style of Australian Coonawara. A really classy wine

In each of the three ranges from this winery - Serbal, Catalpa and Atamisque - there is a blend, an assemblage. Catalpa Assemblage is comprised of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec in varying proportions depending on the vintage. 60% of this wine is aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels, 40% in stainless steel prior to blending and a further 6 months in bottle prior to release. Crafted in a fairly extravagant style this is a lovely, plump, velvet textured delight with clever use of oak in evidence, capable of developing very nicely for 8 - 10 years.

This spicy Cabernet Franc from the Languedoc is a beautiful bright ruby red in colour. The nose has red cherries and currants in abundance, these red fruits follow through on the palate with a menthol note and spicy pepper. The wine has beautiful structure with fine tannins and a long and powerful finish.

Tannat softened down with Cabernet Franc – Great weight and density, with power from tannins but fruit and supple juiciness from blackberry and black cherry notes.

This St Emilion Grand Cru really hit the mark in 2018 with 97 points from James Suckling. From a great vintage, this claret, aged in new oak, is "sleek and tight with crunchy berry, mineral and zesty notes on the finish. Complex". Worth tucking away. Polished with sleek tannins, deep ripe chocolaty fruit and freshness.

This is the Second wine of Château Léoville Poyferré, it benefits from the same care as its big brother, both in the vineyard and in the cellars. Bursting with fruit, this bright, attractive wine is accessible in its youth.

The 2015 vintage comes with a nose of baked black cherry fruit and cigar box. This follows through on to the palate with a medium body, lovely rich fruit and well balanced earthy taste. Soft tannins on the mid palate and a medium finish.
