Some aeration will reveal sweet Mirabelle aromas and some acacia honey. The palate shows a nice concentration, medium intensity on the middle palate, and eventually becomes more and more impressive on the finish. This is a very dry wine but with a velvety texture and sapid fresh acidity.

Located in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, Domaine Jacqueson’s 18 hectares of vines are spread across some of the region’s best growing sites, including Mercurey, Rully, and Bouzeron. This varietal Chardonnay is more floral and less opulent than most Côte de Beaune bottlings, marked by flavors of mandarin, lemon skin, crushed rocks, and white blossom. Slender and fresh with stony minerality, blackberries, wild raspberries and a green hint of wild blueberry bushes and compost.

Rich burgundy color with slight browning on the edges. Nose of earth, ripe raspberries and tobacco. Flavors are similar but with the addition of smoke, brown sugar and bay leaf. From a vineyard of over 60 year old vines, high up on an east-south-east facing slope. More up front flavour compared to the Vasées. Good tension. Again, not plush. It has a serious approach. Energetic acidity throughout. The mineral character is particularly evident in the finish. 40% new wood here. Cherry fruit, and cherry-skin tannins on the finish. Concentrated fruit mixed with sou-bois, with fine tension.

This has a very fine nose with delicate floral notes as well as apples, pears and a wonderful citrus-blossom aroma. On the palate this is elegant and mineral with delicious white fruit character and a lovely saline finish.

Dark in colour, with a powerful nose of ripe black fruits and violet notes. An elegant and complex palate. A dense bouquet with a beautiful tannic base, fruity and fresh on the finish, well balanced.

This Grand Cru Riesling is produced by Bruno Sorg and comes from the steeply terraced Grand Cru Pfersigberg vineyard near Eguisheim. The wine is dry and complex with the classic ripe red apple flavours and a steely dryness combined with refreshing acidity. Will age well over 10 years.
