Brice BOUZY Grand Cru Champagne 2013
Tasting Note
The grapes for this house come from the Bouzy Grand Cru and are a blend of 20% Chardonnay and 80% Pinot Noir. With notes of dried fruits, toasted brioche and pretty red fruits on the finish.
Established in the 17th century in the village of Bouzy, the Brice family began producing their own Champagne in 1994. Today, the estate of 25 hectares is run by Jean-René and Remi Brice. The brothers own 8 hectares of vines in Bouzy and source fruit from the historic Grands Crus villages of Aÿ, Bouzy, Cramant and Verzenay. Champagne Nicolas Fetizon is named after one of the Brice family’s ancestors. Nicolas Fetizon was the first mayor of Bouzy during the French revolution who later purchased a parcel of land from the local church which included their holy vineyard.
