Oscar Tobia BLANCO Reserva Rioja 2016
Tasting Note
Light gold center with shimmering silver throughout. The nose is a mélange of citrus, leafy herbs, flowers, and essential oils. Grilled Meyer lemon, white peach, lemon verbena, Jasmine flower, chamomile, parsley leaf, and salted caper berry emerge with time. The palate is anchored by citrus and stone fruit, with all the delicious savoury elements of Mediterranean fare. It’s rich and full while remaining bright, focused, and directional. Decanted, the wine’s complexity comes to the fore, revealing new layers over the course of 24 hours. The finish offers a beautiful essence of lemon peel and smashed herbs inside a salty olive oil marinade—it’s a wine that just screams for the grilled fare of late summer and fall
