Tasting Note
Single Quinta Vintage Ports are made in a similar way to other Vintage Ports in that they're bottled, without filtration, after a couple or so years in barrel and continue to mature in bottle from there. They will have a sediment and so should be decanted before drinking
Bomfim is regarded as one of the Duoro Valley's best vineyards and has been a staple of Dow's Vintage Port since the nineteenth century. Outside of vintage years, as in 2006, they sometimes make a Single Quinta wine with fruit from just that estate. This is year's edtition is rich and sleek with dark fruit flavours and spice and pepper balancing the dark chocolate notes. It's pleasingly long and smooth as it reaches its luxurious finish.
